^{This project revisits the long-standing tradition of portraiture in classical painting, employing photography alongside classical techniques such as makeup, costumes, and staged settings to reimagine iconic male figures from classical oil paintings. Through this process, these portraits are reconstructed in the style and conventions of classical oil painting. The works highlight the diversity of gender identities and critically examine the gaze in classical art, while also addressing the underlying power dynamics and gender relations. The grotesque and exaggerated nature of these images draws attention to the artificiality and ambiguity of gender stereotypes.}
